Learn Japanese the way you learn anything

OneLine is a mobile app built around the simple idea that the best way to learn Japanese is to read Japanese, using real texts instead of textbook sentences.
The app lets you import any content you already want to read, such as a web page, a PDF, a photo, or plain text, and turns it into an interactive reading experience. Highlight any word or phrase, and AI steps in with instant translation, pronunciation, and analysis, right where you need it.
My work covered icon design and mobile UI. This included full light and dark mode systems, a Japanese color scheme alongside a language-neutral variant for future expansion, and a minimized icon for favicon use.

“あ” is the first syllable in Japanese hiragana, pronounced “a.” As a standalone word, it functions as an interjection, expressing surprise, sudden realization, or recognition, as in “あ!” (“Ah!”). The light-colored rectangular highlight represents the ::selection pseudo-element, applied to text selected by the user.

Designed with future expansion in mind — starting with Japanese, with distinct icons and color schemes ready for other languages down the road.
