A full-stack website that carries the warmth of a community light festival

Doca Festival is San Jose’s newest holiday lights festival. It is a community-rooted event that fills Discovery Meadow Park with glowing tunnels, light sculptures, and children’s original artwork brought to life at full scale.

The website was designed and built entirely by me, from concept to deployment. Powered by Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Sanity CMS, it manages essential festival operations including bilingual content in English and Spanish, ticketing via TicketSpice, email campaigns through Brevo, and analytics with Umami.

The primary design challenge was not technical. It was making a screen feel as warm as standing inside a festival of lights.
